Resistance 2 To Recieve Patch Monday, says Insomniac Games

resistance-2-patched

This week, I’ve started to feel bad for the PS3 because I feel like I haven’t covered any news on it.  Though I’m working on getting as much news as possible, there isn’t much that has been worth writing.  Luckily, some news was dropped today that I can write about.

Insomniac will be releasing a patch for Resistance 2 on Monday, January 26th.  It will fix peoples’ levels being reset to one, and will restore the XP, stats, and attributes of those people to thier rightful conditions.  It will also correct trophy issues the same way (aka retroactive trophy support for trophies the game didn’t give you when you should have earned them).  For a full list of the patch notes and more detailed info of what I displayed above, visit Bryan Intihar’s post or hit the break.

New Uncharted Screens Assault Your Eyes In High Res

Click to embiggen.

In an attempt to add more PS3 content to the blog, I managed to stumbled upon some new “High Res” screens through Joystiq.  It goes without saying that these screens are gorgeous, so take the jump to view them all, or head to Joystiq to view their gallery.

PS3 Receives (Nearly Nano-sized) Firmware Update

That’s right folks!  Sony has released their newest (140MB) firm-ware update for the PS3.  The update includes a photo gallery application and DivX 3.11 support.  There’s not much else to say, so if you’re a PS3 user, start up your jet engine and log in to get the fuel.  You should be clear for take off in no time.  That was a terrible analogy; run with it anyway.

assassins-creed-2

A recent report at MTV Multiplayer has spread the rumor that Assassin’s Creed 2 could be released before the fiscal year of 2010.  For those of you who don’t know when the fiscal year is, it begins on April 1st and finishes its cycle on March 31st of the following year (can you say taxes?).

Gamestar Leaks Killzone 2 Intro in Full, Kotaku Exposes

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Kotaku dug up the full intro from Killzone 2 today.  It was discovered, in full, deep in Hungary where the magazine Gamestar can be found.

Because the video can be seen in its intended format, I suggest all those who hate spoilers to stear away from the video and possible comments.  With that said, enjoy the six minute video, half of which is actual real time rendered footage.  Boy does is this game visually impressive.

Metal Gear Solid Takes A Turn For The Cute

!

Come Tuesday, LittleBigPlanet will make Metal Gear Solid look adorable.  There will be outfits to disguise Sack Boy as Snake and Meryl, paint guns, and security cameras to disable.  Also, who could forget about the classic sounds.  The video after the break shows off some of what is to be expected with the download.  As said before there are security cameras, enemies, and a paint gun.  What they’re adding to this update will most likely add even more possibilities to the level editor and give people some inspiration for deeper level design.  Check out the video after the break.
